Bethesda officially shared the trailer along with the announcement of the release date of the most-awaited gameplay in 2017, "Prey."
According to Forbes, the first-person shooter game has the touch of "Half-Life," and players will assume the character of Morgan Yu - a researcher on "Neuromods" on board a space craft. These mods are reportedly based on the Typhon creatures and their powers, when injected through the eye socket of a person, can be transferred.
Accordingly, Yu can be both a female and a male, depending on the player's choice. Moreover, Digital Trends reported that Gary Steinman of Bethesda previously shared that Morgan is the VP in charge of research at the TranStar Corporation. In effect, the story revolves around Yu's possession of the immense power of the Typhon creatures, which already occupied the entire Talos I. GameSpot reported that Yu will be in-charged of eradicating their enemies to prevent them from infesting the Earth.
Aside from the gameplay, the trailer also showed some of the weapons and tools that Yu will be using to fight. For instance, he will have "GLOO Cannon" and a handheld device that can make a tornado of fire. The trailer also showed that there will be many Typhon aliens running amok and creating havoc within the facility. There is the "Mimic" who looks like a humanoid, but can transform into different things while others range from looking like spiders to crabs.
Arkane Studios, the same studio that created the "Dark Messiah of Might & Magic" and the "Dishonored" series, is the one behind this anticipated game. Reports claim that Arkane's "Prey" is entirely different from the 2006 version of Human head Studios.
Furthermore, reports confirmed that there will be a Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack pre-order bonus including Morgan Yu's family heirloom Margrave shotgun and tools, a starter kit for building tools and weapons, and an upgrade to preserve the player's limited resources.
"Prey" is scheduled to be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 5.
