Annapurna Interactive released another new trailer of the game "Gorogoa". Annapurna Pictures, the film company that produced the movies like "Her" and "Sausage Party" has announced back in December 2016 that they would venture into production of games. Annapurna Pictures is also the one that produced the movies such as "Zero Dark Thirty" and the "20th Century Women" that was shown in theaters last December.
Annapurna Pictures has then created an off-shoot, the Annapurna Interactive, as reported by Paste Magazine. During the time of their announcement, they revealed that they will release their two first games.
The first one is the "What Remains of Edith Finch" by Giant Sparrow. This is the former title released by Sony as they were the one who originally published it. Annapurna Interactive will also publish Jason Roberts' "Gorogoa" according to Dual Shockers. In the spring of 2017, these both games would be launched.
The development of the game "Gorogoa" started way back in 2011. In 2012, "Gorogoa" was revealed at Indiecade.
The "Gorogoa" game is written in a custom-built game engine created by Roberts in Java. Roberts has also hand drawn all of the illustrations in the game.
Austin Wintory is the one who composed the music. Wintory has been famous for composing his work in "Journey" and "The Banner Saga" series.
Roberts has revealed that the "Gorogoa" game development is taking longer than expected. One reason is because his drawing skills has been improving and growing throughout the course of the game production. Roberts kept on going back to the earlier scenes to redraw those.
The "Gorogoa" game will be released in the spring of 2017 for PCs. Its mobile version will be published a little later after the PC release. The price for the game is yet to be announced.
"Gorogoa" is a beautiful hand-drawn story. It is intertwined in a completely one of a kind puzzle. Players can rearrange and combine the exquisitely designed panels.
Each panel is presented in an interactive window within a living game world. The "Gorogoa" game is basically about manipulating the illustrated panels on a grid to solve the puzzles and advance the narrative.
