NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers will take any available point guard; Working with three veterans

Cleveland Cavaliers are very desperate to add point guard into their roster. Following the rejection from Philadelphia 76ers of their offer, they worked out three veteran point guards on Wednesday, Feb. 1. They will any any available point guard after unable to get their targeted player.

According to NBA.com, they hosted the workout for three veteran point guard, Mario Chalmers, Lance Stephenson and Kirk Hinrich on Wednesday. They also tried desperately to obtain a very good one through trade.

The Cavs have been experiencing difficulties after the New Year. They struggled to maintain consistency with 7-8 records in January. However, they seem to rediscover their rhythm on Wednesday after defeating Timberwolves 125-97, but they still have issues in organizing their play.

Cleveland Cavaliers are not happy with Kyrie Irving as the point guard with two backup DeAndre Liggins and Kay Felder. For weeks, their star player LeBron James has reiterated the need to have more point guard which suit his style. James are not happy with either Irving, Liggins or Felder.

Following unsuccessful in negotiation with Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets to get Rajon Rondo, Deron Williams or Jameer Nelson, Cavaliers went to Philadelphia 76ers for T.J. McConnell . However, the 76ers declined their offer which made Cavailers must look for other alternatives.

Their options are now the veterans, Minnnesota Timberwolves’ Chalmers, Indiana Pacers’ Stephenson and Atlanta Hawks’ Hinrich. According to ESPN, the Cavs have spot available for one player. But they could free one more place to waive injured center Chris Andersen.

Meanwhile, their current backup point guard Felder and Liggins slowly began to improve their game. Their veteran forward Channing Frye stated that the Cavaliers have found their back-up point guard in Felder. Therefore, they do not need to frantically shop around to find another one.
