"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 brings back Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold from the dead. The question though, which version of the Legend returns, and showrunner Phil Klemmer hinted the evil version of Snart returns.
Fans have yet to see the return of Captain Cold in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. Of course, Mick Rory's (Dominic Purcell) hallucinations of his dead partner do not count as an actual appearance. The last time fans saw Snart he selflessly sacrificed himself to save his team. Now, the question is, is the resurrected Captain Cold the same person whom the team remembers.
Series creator Klemmer threw this same question during an interview with TV Line about Snart's return. He was asked about the character's role and story in the second half of "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2.
"The question mark will be: Which version of Leonard Snart? Because obviously he's appeared now on all of the shows over a number of years, and he's been everything from a despicable, unapologetic scumbag to a guy who died for the Legends," Klemmer said.
There have been few details revealed so far about Captain Cold's (Wentworth Miller) return in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. Klemmer previously hinted that this version of Snart who returns is not the same person the Legends once knew. The series creator indirectly confirmed that this Snart is the original evil version from "The Flash." This Captain Cold is a villain and a full-on member of the Legion of Doom.
Klemmer hinted that the Captain Cold that comes back from the dead is a different version of the rehabilitated Snart, who blew himself up to save his friends. The showrunner told Entertainment Weekly that the Snart who returns in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 is not the same person whom fans have grown to know and love.
