Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's breakup leads to "Jagga Jasoos" shoot delay. Director Anurag Basu confirms that Salman Khan should not be blamed either for the delay or for the duos breakup.
"Barfi" director Basu, who was about to almost wrap up the shooting of his already behind schedule film "Jagga Jasoos," was in for a disappointment again as the lead pair of his directorial venture have called off their relationship. The producers and the director were in for a rude shock recently when a portion of the detective drama had to be shot, but later got delayed due to Kapoor and Kaif's break-up.
Basu's film, which has been in the production for two years now, is already running behind schedule and now this split will have a devastating effect, Indian Express reported. A source close to the film's shooting schedule said in a statement to DNA that their next shooting schedule was about to begin from mid-January, but got cancelled for no apparent reasons.
"Ranbir and Katrina had several fights on the sets, so much that there would be days that our shoot got affected because of their fights," the source quoted.
A month ago, Kapoor and Kaif were caught in the cameras cozying up in their terrace apartment, which had become the talk of the town. But now that the duo has split, "Fitoor" actress is staying alone in the apartment they bought together, while "Barfi" actor has moved in again with his parents.
Close sources revealed that this split might be for good, and the former power couple might just not come back together again.
Meanwhile, Basu, who was quoted as saying that Kaif's ex-flame Salman Khan is the main reason behind this split, has quashed all the rumours. The director posted on his social media handle post the lead pair's break up, "Me blaming Salman for the delay of jagga.:-)HOW WHEN??! Person who created this news shd write fiction we need good writers in the industry."
Sources said that the actress had met with Khan before she parted ways with Kapoor, and ever since, Khan has been blamed for it and for the delay of the film too. Basu, on the other hand, has made sure that he puts all rumours to rest by confirming the contrary on his social media account.
"Jagga Jasoos" is a detective drama scheduled to be released on June 3, 2016, which might further get postponed.
