M. Night Shyamalan's latest thriller, "Split," is still performing strong at the box office. With the film's widely discussed and shocking twist, fans of "The Sixth Sense" director are now closely following his next move about a potential sequel.

Shyamalan's creation of Split clearly paved the way for the filmmaker to get noticed as a great movie helmer once again. The movie's reception to critics and fans are mostly positive, giving the director just the right amount of confidence for him to become continuously motivated to work on a follow-up. And with the "Split" fever taking effect, it seems that Shyamalan has finally embraced the hype surrounding his latest project.

On Sunday, Shyamalan gave fans of "Split" an update about the awaited sequel on Twitter. He said: "I have an 11 page outline for my next film in my bag. I can't tell you what it is, but If you've seen #Split..."

It's pretty obvious that Shyamalan wants to tease fans about "Split" part 2. But since the plot twist is inherently connected to the film "Unbreakable," it's also likely that he's working on expanding those two universes with the addition of McAvoy's 'The Beast'. Bruce Willis' cameo appearance is also something that is regarded to become one of the strong plot points to be revisited on the sequel.

Recently, Shyamalan chatted with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the ending of "Split" - where he shared that the character of Mcavoy was originally written for the script of "Unbreakable."

"The original draft of Unbreakable focused on David Dunn and Elijah as his mentor. Elijah tells him, "You're a comic book character, go try it." And instead of bumping into the Orange Suit Man, David bumps into one of Kevin's personalities and goes to save the girls," the director said.

"So you'd have been watching the girls side of it the whole time. That was the outline."

For three consecutive weeks, "Split" has landed the #1 spot at the box office. With an estimated budget of $9 million, the film has now earned over $100 million worldwide.
