Hollywood actress Jessica Alba is reportedly being eyed to star in the upcoming Korean-produced war movie "Battle of Jangsari." Taewon Entertainment revealed that the studio is reportedly in talks with Alba for her casting.
News outlets reported earlier this month that Alba is being considered to star in the upcoming Korean war film "Battle of Jangsari." As per Koreaboo, Alba would play the role of Margueritte Higgins, who is the first American war correspondent to have received the Pulitzer Prize for her novel, "War in Korea."
Source who spoke with Taewon Entertainment gathered that the agency was reportedly currently negotiating with Alba's agency regarding her filming schedule and fee. Moreover, it was revealed that Taewon Entertainment is "close to confirming" her involvement.
However, another source revealed that Alba's agency did not receive any offer for the actress star in a South Korean movie. Furthermore, it is said that Alba's agency is still discussing whether they should issue an official statement to address the misunderstanding.
To clear out the confusion, Taewon Entertainment's CEO Jung Tae Won clarified that they have not formally made an offer to Alba. The agency has, however, inquired about her filming schedule. Jung also said that it might be likely they'll book Alba for the role considering that the actress is fond of South Korea and is used to filming in foreign locations.
Indeed, Alba previously revealed that she enjoys watching South Korean films and is particularly fond of Korean director Park Chan Wook and his 2003 hit film "Oldboy."
"The characters were strong and complicated, but they came to me like music," Alba said in an interview, as quoted by Digital Spy. "I might faint if I meet Park Chan-wook in person." He added that she would like to make an action film in Korean someday.
Will Alba bag the role in "Battle of Jangsari?" Stay tuned for updates.
