The famous political thriller series on Fox, "24," is back with a new image and a new title- "24: Legacy." There is a lot of changes that fans would be intrigued to watch this time, especially now that it doesn't involve Keifer Sutherland playing his famous role as Jack Bauer.
Comic Book wrote about the return of Fox's one of the most critically acclaimed TV shows back in 2001. Keifer Sutherland starred as Jack Bauer, a Counter Terrorist Agent in Los Angeles, who has 24 hours to stop a lot of terrorist threats, which includes the assassination of the President of the United States. However, fans won't see Sutherland on this new "24: Legacy.
Instead, the network has Corey Hawkins, who is known for his work in "Straight Outta Compton," to star this time not as Jack Bauer, but as Eric Carter. His character is a war hero whose goal is to also stop some terrorist attack in 24 hours.
The show already made a premiere right after the Super Bowl on Feb. 5. Reaction from its viewers was pretty good and it is promising to get some high ratings as well. The cast may be new but the action remains the same, intense and nerve wracking.
LA Times pointed out something interesting about this new edition of "24" and that is its cast has more African American actors than the previous one. In fact, there is only one caucasian character on "24: Legacy" and that is Rebecca Ingram, played by Miranda Otto. She does play a vital role in the story since she used to be Bauer's boss.
Although the action and suspense were kept in this series, fans would likely see more inspirational and dramatic twists in this story. It would be hard for them to keep up with it if they won't watch it diligently every episode.
