Playground Games, the developer behind the amazing Forza Horizon series is now making a new game. It may seem to be a new Forza Horizon title, but it's not. The Playground Games confirmed that they are currently working on a new open-world game title, and it is not a racing game.
According to Desctructoid, the Playground Games are currently in a second studio of the company, working on a new game. After 6 Forza Horizon titles, the Playground Games will be pushing themselves to a new challenge of making a game outside the racing game genre.
The creative director and founder of the Playground Games Ralph Fulton said that this would be a good opportunity for them as they will finally unleash their skills and talent in creating different genres of video games. Fulton also announced that they will be hiring new talents to help them as they develop the new game they are currently working on.
Fulton added that they will also need some team leaders since they will be working on 2 projects this year. This means that the Playground Games will be releasing more than one game title in the next few years, Windows Central reported.
The Playground Games has an independent studio, which was opened last 2010 in England, United Kingdom. The company holds more than a 100 staffs and they are targeting to grow up to 200 employees within this year.
On the other hand, Playground Games confirmed that they will not stop developing racing games in the future. As Fulton said, Forza Horizon is their first big project, the game that makes them successful, a well good reason enough to keep the title running in the next few years.
Forza Horizon was first released back in 2012, with the game's unique features, it gained its popularity and was ranked on top of the racing game genre. Since then, Playground Games were able to pull a new title every 2 years and an expansion every year, along with some new updates regularly to maintain the games thrill and improvements.
