K-Pop idol Xiumin graced an interview with Grazia magazine, where he talked about his role as an EXO. Among the nine members, the idol admitted he is the "least distinctive" in the boy group.
"Our members have distinct characteristics. I think those characteristics [are] harmonizing together," Xiumin said as per Korea Herald.
However, the EXO member added he does not see this as a negative trait, but rather a helpful attribute that allows his co-members to excel in their respective uniqueness. "My strength is that I can be with any other member. I am like a supporter to make them better," Xiumin continued.
Contrary to his statement, fans consider Xiumin as the "Ipdeok" of EXO or someone who attracts new supporters. Upon learning about fans' view of him, the idol said he is honored for the attribute.
Meanwhile, Xiumin and the rest of EXO performed well last year. In fact, the K-Pop group won a total of 5 Daesangs from major music awarding events.
According to Allkpop, the boy group won the following awards: Daesang singer (2016 Asia Artist Awards); Artist of the Year (2016 Melon Music Awards); Album of the Year (2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards); Disk Daesang (2017 Golden Disk Awards); and Daesang (2017 Seoul Music Awards).
Not only that, EXO sold over 2 million copies of their albums in 2016. Reports stated the boy group sold more than 1 million copies of "Lotto" and "EX'ACT," while their "For Life" EP sold over 400,000 copies in the same year.
Aside from the impressive figures, the K-Pop band also launched their first sub-unit group called EXO-CBX, which stands for Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.
Following the success of their 2016, the boy group promised to actively promote this year. EXO's Suho stated in a recent interview that they are aiming to promote as much as they did when they debuted in 2012.
