"Avengers: Infinity War" will feature one more Marvel character from "Guardians of the Galaxy." Josh Brolin accidentally confirmed the return of Benicio del Toro as The Collector.
According to Comic Book Movie, Brolin (Thanos) let slip that del Toro is part of the star-studded ensemble in "Avengers: Infinity War" on his Instagram page. The "Sicario" actor shared a live stream where he talked about his upcoming filming for the sequel with some of the casts from "Guardians of the Galaxy."
He mentioned he has scenes to film with Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) and Benecio del Toro (The Collector). Saldana and Pratt have since confirmed their appearance in "Avengers: Infinity War," so it is no surprise to hear their names from Brolin.
However, fans clearly were surprised to hear del Toro's name among the casts of "Avengers: Infinity War." Marvel Studios has yet to confirm the actor's appearance in the movie. Likewise, del Toro himself have remained mum about his involvement in the film.
To add fuel to del Toro's casting is the fact that Brolin deleted his Instagram post. Likewise, del Toro was recently spotted at a record store in Atlanta. Interestingly, "Black Panther" and "Avengers: Infinity War" are both filming in the city.
According to Cinema Blend, it would make sense if del Toro is in "Avengers: Infinity War." He is a fixture character in the Marvel Universe. Likewise, The Collector has a long-standing feud with Thanos, because both are after the Infinity Stones.
The publication claimed that it is likely del Toro appears as The Collector in the second "Avengers: Infinity War" film. This is supposedly when the heroes team up to defeat Thanos.
Regardless, Brolin's accidental reveal is not a final confirmation on del Toro's appearance as The Collector in "Avengers: Infinity War." Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce his involvement in the movie.
