Moto G5 will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona this late February. The new Moto phone series is aimed to resurrect the Motorola brand, which is now owned by Lenovo. Many speculations about the phone has made the unveiling to be more interesting.
Latest hint of the new Moto G5 Plus is that it will be a 5.2” instead a 5.5” screen according to GSM Arena. The leak came from Brazil, when a member of the Moto Community in Brazil was reported to have received a new Moto G5 for testing purpose. The image has been leaked to Reddit and to the Google Plus, but later on the image was taken down.
The new phone is predicted to be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor and a 12-megapixel rapid focus camera. There is also fingerprint reader and the NFC embedded in the smartphone. Other specifications which leaked were its 3000mAh battery equipped with fast charging using Turbo Power technology.
In the software size, the Motorola software included in the G5 Plus are Moto Assist, Moto Display, and Moto Actions. However, according to NDTV, the latest leaked showed a warning tag the phone which read, "Motorola confidential property: Not for sale." That may be one main reason the leaked image has been removed from Google Plus.
As the Mobile World Congress is approaching on Feb. 27, smartphone enthusiasts have been eager to see the new device from the manufacturers. The new display technology is predicted to take center stage as the phonemakers have tried to remove the bezel from the phone. However, such technology may be available in the phone product later this year.
For Motorola, the MWC 2017 will be the opportunity to resurrect the Moto brand as the elite brand with its Moto G5 Plus. Watch the predicted specifications of the new smartphone below:
