Despite his plea to enlist quietly, T.O.P's fans insisted to have a glimpse of the idol before he begins his military duties. In fact, hundreds of them gathered outside Nonsan Training Center to bid their farewells to the BIGBANG member on Thursday.
However, other BIGBANG fans deemed the act as inappropriate, considering that T.O.P has emphasized his desire to keep his enlistment low-key. Also, the idol previously said he does not a special event on his enlistment day.
Regardless of the request, T.O.P's enlistment turned into a huge event with all the big balloons and banners brought by his fans as per Koreaboo. As a result, other VIPs expressed their dismay towards selected fans who disobeyed the idol's appeal.
"As a VIP, I'm so embarrassed! They couldn't even give T.O.P his wish of not making a scene and letting him be normal for a day and enlist quietly," a fan wrote.
Another one said she is worried that the incident could be used against the BIGBANG member inside the military. "You don't know what really goes on in there once the doors are closed. You only made things worse or bad," a VIP posted.
Contrary to initial reports that T.O.P would greet his fans before entering Nonsan Training Center, the BIGBANG member has decided to enlist like a normal Korean citizen.
According to Allkpop, the idol even stressed his decision a day before he started his mandatory military service. "I really want to leave quietly today. Please understand even if I leave without any greetings. I'm sorry," T.O.P said.
Prior to that, BIGBANG members even had to beg T.O.P to show up before he leaves for his enlistment. On Wednesday, G-Dragon managed to meet T.O.P at a hair salon where the latter got his military haircut.
We will miss you, T.O.P!
