Guillermo del Toro's robot against monster mayhem returns to theaters February next year. While details of the movie are under wraps, star John Boyega recently updated fans with some set pictures offering clues of the actual film plot.
John Boyega's Instagram account doesn't really give a daily account on what's happening on set of "Pacific Rim: Uprising" but he does provide some sneak peek through pictures from time to time. According to Comicbook, Boyega recently uploaded a broody pic of his character Jake Pentecost - looking afar and pondering things. Since he's playing the son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba on the first film) there are a lot of things to ponder especially when he has a lot to bear in the sequel.
The photo doesn't offer a lot of information about Jake Pentecost or even to the story. However, it does prove that instead of brand new pilots helming the massive robot jaegers, controlling these powerful weapons runs in the blood. It helps that your father is one of the best jaeger pilots that gave an awesome speech before running wild with a kaiju underwater.
Aside from Boyega, Scott Eastwood is also providing updates to fans on his Instagram account according to Polygon. Boyega has been posting pictures about his character and the latest is actually about Jake Pentecost on set. However, Eastwood's uploads are different since all of them are behind the scene.
Unlike Boyega, Eastwood's character is still unknown and they'll probably keep it under wraps until they release the trailer and official plot. But his military uniform while shooting will probably place him along with Boyega as a jaeger riding pilot.
Guillermo del Toro's robot punching monster mayhem "Pacific Rim: Uprising" returns to theaters February 2018. Steven S. DeKnight will direct with del Toro as executive producer.
