Despite the upcoming marriage of Stefan and Caroline for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, some are still rooting for Elena and Stefan, but that notion is already perceived to not come true. Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that CW has released new photos from the series' penultimate episode, "We're Planning a June Wedding," in which Matt's mother makes an appearance.

Based on the title, it certainly looks like Stefan and Caroline's dream wedding, but the episode description states that it's planned in order for Stefan and Damon to "lure a dangerous enemy out into the open," as noted by the same post.

In addition, it appears that Kelly's appearance on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is slated to occur on Stefan and Caroline's wedding, TV Line reported.

This is the long-planned June wedding of Caroline; she is preparing for the very first episode and it is not clear how Kelly will return in the episode, and the reasons for her come back. In addition, she was never mentioned since she departed in Season 1, according to the same report.

On a different note, as for the claims that a bloody feud will occur, that remains to be seen and should be taken with a grain of salt in mind for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.
