Super Junior's Kyuhyun has revealed the real reason why he did not evacuate from the hotel during fire.

The idol was in Taipei, Taiwan, to perform at a solo concert on Feb. 25, Saturday, when a fire broke out at the hotel he was staying in, according to All Kpop. Luckily, the fire was extinguished without any harm but fans were not happy after one of Kyuhyun's staff members took to social media to upload pictures of their evacuation.

Fans expressed their anger over the staff members' decision to leave Kyuhyun behind in his room during the hotel fire and evacuating from the hotel instead of taking care of their artist. The idol later took to Twitter to clarify the hotel fire incident and explain what exactly happened that day.

"There seems to be a misunderstanding about the fire in Taiwan," Soompi quoted the idol as saying. "My manager, my staff, and I were in my room preparing for the comments I would be making at the concert, and we missed the right timing to evacuate. Then we heard that the fire was put out and decided to just stay in the room instead of breathing in the smoke while walking down the stairs."

Kyuhyun added that apart from the staff members in his room, all the others followed the hotel's evacuation instructions and waited outside the hotel for three hours. The idol noted that it was his mistake as he did not take the fire seriously and decided to stay in his hotel room. He concluded his post by saying that he did not want there to be problems after a great concert before wishing his fans goodnight.

This is not the first time the Super Junior member has found himself in a life-threatening situation. In 2007, the idol was involved in a major car accident along with his fellow group members that nearly killed him.
