Mandy Wong, who plays a woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder in the upcoming Hong Kong television series Three Women, One Gene, regularly has to hit her co-star Benjamin Yuen. One of her character's personalities also dislikes wearing a bra, so the actress will appear on-screen in nothing, but a shirt.
Wong's character has three distinct personalities - a lawyer, an aggressive and sexual woman, and one who is melancholic. The sad character is in a romantic relationship with Yuen's character.
Yuen's on-screen love often physically abuses him, but the actor said he enjoyed the torment.
"I don't know why, but I enjoy when people hit me," said Yuen. "She puts the right amount of strength into her slaps. The sound effect is good, but it doesn't hurt too much."
Yuen apparently loves the pain so much that he craves more of it. "It feels kind of nice, so I want more of these scenes added into the series," he said.
Wong expressed feeling self-conscious at times when filming scenes while braless, as one of her character's identities has an aversion toward wearing underwear.
This is not the first time the 33-year-old actress has made headlines because of her body. After signing on to endorse Spa Collection, she made news when she said she liked to have masseuses massage her breasts, because it would "prevent any chest illnesses" and it "increases the breast size."
Three Women, One Gene, which is set to air soon, also stars Jason Chan and Arnold Kwok, who acts as lovers to Wong's other identities.
The show was inspired by Kill Me Heal Me, a drama from South Korea.
