The awaited season finale of "This Is Us" Season 1 is nigh. To whet the fans' appetite, NBC has released the sneak peek images of the show's final hour titled "Moonshadow."
When viewers last tuned in on "This Is Us," Randall and William went on a father and son road trip adventure to Memphis. Unfortunately, the episode ended on a sad note when William passed away in the same hour after battling with cancer. Moving forward, Randall and the rest of the Pearson family will gather to honor his memory on this week's episode.
In the season finale, airing on March 14th, the series will shift its focus to Jack and Rebecca, who are seen (via flashbacks) going through a rough patch in their marriage. As per the episode synopsis: "Jack heads to Cleveland to make things right with Rebecca on the night of her first big gig with the band." In the present, viewers will find "Randall, Kate and Kevin make big decisions about their futures."
In the bunch of photos released by the network (via Screen Spy), it seems that a curveball will be thrown into Jack and Rebecca's marriage in the season finale. A couple of images feature Jack eyeing on another woman inside a bar; while Rebecca is seen having a sweet moment with her former flame, Ben (played by Sam Trammell).
To this end, it's safe to say that the finale will likely end with a cliffhanger which will leave viewers with a lot of questions about Jack and Rebecca's future.
Recently, co-showrunner Glenn Ficarra has dropped a tease on what fans can expect from "This Is Us" Season 2. According to Ficarra, their plan is to constantly fill out the blanks of everyone's backstory.
"Everybody has a backstory you know, a goal and a present we can pretty much operate in those lines," the showrunner told TV Guide.
"We haven't even scratched the surface with Beth and her family, and how they factor into all this. There's a whole history. We've seen the history with Jack and Rebecca, we haven't seen that with Randall and Beth so that's a huge potential right there."
