The hit romantic comedy "Love Actually" is finally getting a much-deserved sequel. "Love Actually 2," which is being produced in celebration of the annual Red Nose Day event, is bring back almost all of the original cast members, and some of the characters have already found true love.
Producer Emma Freud released a first-look at Hugh Grant as Prime Minister David. "And here he is. Our Prime Minister. Again. And still hot," Freud tweeted along with a photo of Grant in character.
Another big revelation that came with Grant's photo is the confirmation that his character is still married to Natalie, played by Martine McCutcheon. According to Metro, McCutcheon previously revealed that she hopes David and Natalie would have "a couple of kids" in the sequel. "I'm hoping the magic of it all comes back for something so lovely," the actress said.
McCutcheon also shared that she and Grant have remained friends even after more than a decade since the first movie came out in 2003.
In the original "Love Actually" film, Grant played the recently elected Prime Minister while McCutcheon's Natalie was a junior member of the 10 Downing Street household staff. Their relationship turn into something romantic and sealed with a kiss by the end of the film
As per Deadline, "Love Actually 2" will be a 20-minute short film that will bring back together all the characters from the original film. Among the cast members confirmed to return are Colin First, Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Andrew Lincoln, Rowan Atkinson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Lucia Moniz and Marcus Brigstocke. Emma Thompson previously stated that she will not be joining the sequel as she is too sad to film it without the late Alan Rickman, who portrayed her husband in the first film.
"Love Actually 2," officially titled as "Red Nose Day Actually" will premiere on March 24 on BBC One and will be broadcasted again on May 25 as part of NBC's Red Nose Day Special.
