About a year after they went public about their relationship, Kim Go Eun and Shin Ha Kyun are confirmed to have called it quits.
In a statement released on Wednesday, HODU&U Entertainment verified their artists have put an end to their relationship last month. "Shin Ha Kyun and Kim Go Eun parted ways toward the end of February," the agency said as per Allkpop.
It continued, "They grew distant naturally due to their busy schedules. They will remain good sunbae-hoobaes."
Kim Go Eun and Shin Ha Kyun's announcement of their relationship came as a shock, considering that their age gap. The "Goblin" actress is at her 26, while the "Welcome to Dongmakgol" star is already 43.
The pair confirmed dating rumors through their agency in August 2016. HODU&U Entertainment said Kim Go Eun and Shin Ha Kyun have been seeing each other for two months before they decided to share the news to the public.
Before the revelation, it was reported that the two artists were on the same skin scuba diving club. Soompi cited Kim Go Eun even posted a group photo with Shin Ha Kyun and the team prior to dating reports.
Perhaps the duo have gotten close because of their shared interest in diving. Shin Ha Kyun, on the other hand, was spotted on the premiere night of Kim Go Eun's "Canola" film in May 2016.
Not only that, the actor was captured seated next to the actress during the VIP premiere night of "The Handmaiden" in the same month. In a previous interview, Kim Go Eun shared how the actor cheered her up for her latest project "Goblin."
"He said that dramas were fights of stamina, so he told me to make sure I take care of my health," the actress said of Shin Ha Kyun.
