Philippines' pop princess Sarah Geronimo will be missing this year's MTV Music Evolution allegedly due to medical reasons, MTV Asia announced via Twitter on Wednesday.
"We are disappointed that due to medical reasons, @JustSarahG can't perform at #MTVMusicEvo. We wish her a fast recover. Health comes first!" MTV Asia wrote.
The former coach of The Voice Kids was supposed to perform at the MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016. The event is jointly organized by MTV Asia and the Philippines Tourism Promotion Board.
The Forever Is Not Enough hitmaker would have shared the stage with real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre as well as American band One Republic.
After breaking the "disappointing" news, MTV Asia unveiled two new additions (namely, Bebe Rexha and Korean girl group Apink) in the music fest's lineup.
"I've never been to the Philippines before but I hear that the people are super friendly and they are really passionate about music. I'm really looking forward to hanging with you guys and having a good time!," Bebe Rexha said.
Rexha is famous for her collaboration with Nicki Minaj, No Broker Hearts.
Meanwhile, Apink is an award-winning Kpop group known for its sweet and innocent image and street style. The group is composed of Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi, Jung Eun-ji, Son Na-eun, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young.
"We've had so much fun on the MTV World Stage previously. We are looking forward to meeting and performing for our fans in the Philippines. It will be another fun party, so thank you MTV for the invite!" Apink said.
MTV Asia will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena concert grounds on June 24.
