Best known for his fierce roles in "Gunman in Joseon" and "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," Lee Joon Gi admitted he would like to shy away from action projects and star in romcom series instead.

But despite his willingness to try a different genre, the "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor revealed he keeps getting the same offer to play for action films or dramas. "I don't get any offers for romantic comedies," Lee Joon Gi said as per Soompi.

The actor went on, "I get a lot of hero fantasy projects. Because I've done a lot of action scenes, I think my image as an actor has become set as an action star in the eyes of many."

The 34-year-old Hallyu actor even said it becomes frustrating to get the same offers especially now that he is getting older. After airing his thoughts, Lee Joon Gi's fans apparently loved the idea of seeing him in romcom projects.

"I've been waiting for him to be in a romcom for the longest time and all this time I just thought he was like "allergic" to the genre," a fan wrote.

Some fans even called the attention of writers and producers to cast Lee Joon Gi in romcom drama or film, promising that they will definitely support the project. While others thought the actor is a perfect match to Park Min Young, his partner on "My Ear's Candy."

During their final moments on the tvN program, Lee Joon Gi fluttered the hearts of his fans when he told Park Min Young that he misses her. Not only that, the actor even surprised his partner when he met her before their journey on "My Ear's Candy" ended.

Perhaps it will somehow take time before we can actually see Lee Joon Gi in romcom series as he has been chosen to take part in the Korean remake of "Criminal Minds" as per Allkpop.

Although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, Namoo Actors confirmed the "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor and his labelmate Moon Chae Won are currently reviewing the offer.
