The "Rick and Morty" season 3 fans got the biggest surprise of their lives when the show's first episode w surprisingly premiered last Saturday, April 1, 2017. Despite the date being nationally known as April Fools' Day, they were definitely not fooled with this amazing news.
Much to everyone's surprise, "Rick and Morty" season 3 premiered last Saturday, one that no one ever expected. It can be recalled that fans of the show have been pushing the creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland into releasing the new season already.
In their defense, the fans have been waiting two years for the new season's release and thus the surprise premiere caught them off guard. However, it was a great surprise for them nonetheless and finally kept the fans quiet once and for all. According to Polygon, Adult Swim has finally released the season three premiere of "Rick and Morty" last Satuday, April 1, 2017 and it was definitely not a joke to fool the fans. It was as real as it could get.
Furthermore, Independent reported that for those who have missed the live stream of the "Rick and Morty" premiere, it can be watched again in the Adult Swim website here. Ironically enough, the fans were indeed waiting to have been fooled by the season three premiere of "Rick and Morty" to which they all expected that it was a prank. Many of the viewers who caught the live stream of the premiere all expected that at some point, Rick was going to come out in the middle of the episode and tell the audience that it was all a joke.
However, much to their amazing surprise, that did not happen at all. The episode did finish without disappointing any of the fans and they all ended up very delighted of what has come before their eyes.
After not having any news at all about the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date, it was understandable how and why fans thought they were pranked by the show's creators.
