DC Extended Universe has tried to make comeback from the negative feedback of their movies last year with a big year ahead of them. They will be releasing a number of superhero movies which includes one of the most anticipated of the list, "Wonder Woman."
It can be recalled that the DC Extended Universe has received negative reviews from the audience with their production of "Green Lantern" and "Batman vs. Superman" to name a few. Now, they have a chance to recover from these reviews with their upcoming release of "Wonder Woman" prior to the appearance of the entire squad in the film "Justice League."
Needless to say, there is a lot of pressure being placed on the protagonist of the film, Gal Gadot. It is currently the first movie that features a woman as the main superhero which is highly anticipated by the DC fans, Cinema Blend reported,
One of the greatest concerns that the DC Extended Universe and the audience are concerned about is the possibility that Chris Pine as Steve might overshadow Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Pine is already a distinguished and modified actor, thus the fear of him overshadowing the main protagonist of the film. However, "Wonder Woman" has created such a large impact to the audience, being the first of its kind, thus the expectations will most likely be met when it premieres.
Aside from the upcoming movie to be the first of its kind to have a female superhero as the main lead, it is also the first for a woman to direct a superhero film. Screen Crush reported that the film will be directed by Patty Jenkins, which helped the statement on feminism as women are now more empowered in the film industry.
Before "Justice League" comes to theaters worldwide, "Wonder Woman" will be premiering to the big screens on June 2, 2017.
