"Attack On Titan" Season 2 essentially picked where it left off four years since its original run. An anime series that draws comparison to George R.R Martin's 'Game of Thrones' as far as the amount of bloodshed depicted in each episode, Attack on Titan continues to live up to that reputation by kicking off the second season with the gruesome death of Survey Corps squad leader Mike Zacharias.
Gore will always be one of the central themes for "Attack on Titan." Only season 2 promises to be more violent than ever. Death toll will just continue to rise as the story progresses. And not even Eren Yeager with his new-found titan shifting ability nor Levi's mighty 'bladework' could prevent titans from munching in another poor soul.
While some may get annoyed by the amount of spoilers this article contains, others may find it helpful in coping up with the level of stress they are going to endure for the remainder of the season. Below is the list of gruesome character deaths ought to happen in "Attack on Titan" season 2.
Gruesome death scenes for Season 2
Nanaba (Cause of Death: Eaten by group of titans) - This character made his debut in the first episode of Season 2, warning his Survey Corps subordinates of an impending titan attack from the south. Nanaba will be making his final act at Utgard Castle, where he will fight side-by-side with his partner until the end.
Gelgar (Cause of Death: Eaten by group of titans) - Gelgar is another new character who just made his anime debut only to be killed off several episodes later. Like Nanaba, Gelgar is a fierce soldier with above average skills in using the 3D Maneuver Gear. But again, the lack of gas supply will not allow him and Nanaba to live long. They find themselves shredded to pieces of meat by hungry titans.
Mike Zacharias (Cause of Death: Eaten by group of titans as ordered by Beast Titan) - Revered as humanity's second greatest soldier just behind Levi, Mike should have lived longer than anybody else. However, the odds are stacked against him once he encountered 'the Beast Titan - the strongest titan-shifter ever introduced in the series.
Hannes (Cause of Death: Eaten in half by Smiling Titan) - Hannes waited for a good 5 years to prove to Eren and Mikasa that he can actually save them from any titan attack. Still suffering from the guilt of abandoning Carla Yeager during the titan invasion in Shiganshina, Hannes will try to make a valiant stand in front of Eren and Mikasa. Unfortunately, he will ultimately get eaten in half by 'the Smiling Titan.' His death will not go in vain as it will somehow trigger Eren to tap one of the powers of the Founding Titan: the ability to control all mindless minions.
"Attack on Titan" Season 2 will cover the entire 'Clash of the Titans' arc of Hajime Isayama's post-apocalyptic manga series Shingeki no Kyojin. The show airs every Saturday at 10:30 a,m on streaming platforms Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll.
