KPop star and T-ara’s member Soyeon has recently shared her thoughts regarding the “Top Excellence Award” recognition that her group has received during the recently held “YinYueTai’s V-Chart” awards.
The 29-year-old star extended her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who had been supporting T-ara since the early days of their career in the entertainment industry. She further assured them that they will stay together as family for all time.
According to the 29-year-old star as quoted by Soompi: “We are grateful to be receiving this award again. We want to thank our fans, family, and staff for giving us so much love and support… Everyone, we are all family. Let’s stay together until the end.”
Aside from the T-ara, other KPop groups were also given recognition during the event. Among them were the boy group EXO ("Most influential group in Asia"), NCT 127 ("Best New Artist" and "Most Popular Group of the Year"), NCT Dream ("Top Promising Group"), VIXX ("Hot Group Trend of the Year") and BTS ("Best Stage Performance"). Furthermore, EXO’s Chanyeol, Lay, and Sehun, as well as Hyomin and JYJ’s Jaejoong also received individual awards, All KPop reports.
This year’s “YinYueTai’s V-Chart” awards was held in Macau due to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) issue, an agreement between Seoul and Washington to build a missile shield system in South Korea, to protect the latter’s allies from North Korean attacks. Because of the said pact, China has announced that it will cut off TV shows, products, and K-pop music videos from Korea.
Meanwhile, T-ara is set to release their last album as a group this May as they are set to be disbanded after the contract expiry of its two members. According to the group’s label MBK Entertainment as quoted by Soompi: “As reported, T-ara’s Boram and Soyeon’s contracts will end on May 15... Qri, Eunjung, Hyomin, and Jiyeon have decided to renew their contract until the end of December, and will be focusing on solo activities, dramas, and other personal schedules as well as overseas activities.”
