WWE is planning to push Jeff Hardy back to main event picture soon. Sportskeeda reported that Vince McMahon is still pretty much high on Jeff Hardy's drawing power as one of the company's top baby faces.

According to the source, the original plan was to bring Jeff Hardy in the fold alone, as Mr. McMahon was never a fan of Matt Hardy's broken gimmick. However, with the singles competition still crowded, the WWE chairman eventually decided to bring the high-flying tag-team together to spice up the tag-team picture for a while.

"McMahon isn't particularly a fan of the Broken Hardys gimmick, he will inevitably break the pair up and give Jeff the singles push he originally planned. Although there are no plans for Jeff to become The Universal Champion, he does view him as a main event talent who could challenge for the title and has even mentioned him as a potential opponent for Brock Lesnar."

Apparently, McMahon even tried to retain Jeff Hardy when his contract expired in 2009. The WWE Boss views the high-flying Swanton Bomb-hitting star not only as a championship contender but a valuable commodity in the company being the no.2 merchandize seller behind John Cena in 2009.

As far as the Hardy Boyz is concerned, WWE is also making the initial moves to introduce the 'Broken Universe' to WWE programming, as Dan Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the company officially have already reached out with Impact Wrestling's parent company Anthem and Sports Entertainment to discuss the matter.

"Regarding the Hardys, right now the plan is for them to go to the Broken gimmick with the idea that it'll be a major merchandise mover. WWE is attempting to make a deal with Anthem so everything is on hold when it comes to that until the sides come to an agreement," according to Meltzer.
