Mandy Moore returns to the big screen with "47 Meters Down." It's not "Jaws" but it's going to match-up "The Shallows" for fun and excitement that should appeal to every shark attack and suspense fans out there.
Mandy Moore in Deeper Problem
The premise is pretty simple: you're in for a unique adventure as you go diving with the sharks. But things got awry as the cable that connects your cage to the boat was disconnected. You only have one hour of oxygen and 47 meters deep - hence the title.
According to Mashable, the upcoming shark-attack horror suspense film will feature Mandy Moore. She's on vacation to get over a nasty break-up which probably contributes to her bad decision to get on board with her friend on a boat owned by Taylor (Matthew Modine!) to go down with the sharks.
The movie is a little bit different compared to Blake Lively's "The Shallow" since Lively got herself stranded on a rock surrounded by shark infested waters and she has to swim too feet to get to safety. On the other hand, "47 Meters Down" (roughly 157 feet) is underwater and Moore is with her best friend Kate (Claire Holt).
VOD to Wide Release
According to Collider, the movie is set for release June 16. But the movie is supposed to be released a lot earlier - Spring 2016 through VOD and DVD. But a week before it's official release, the honchos behind the film decided to scrap the scheduled release and hold it for a later date on limited release.
It's a risky decision but still a smart one since the only popular film coming that day is "Cars 3." They could also offer an alternate viewing experience since they are the only one pushing for the thriller genre.
