Charles Michael Davis, portrayed as Marcel Gerard, played a vampire in "The Originals" season 1 to 4. After all line in front of the camera, the actor made a directorial debut in "High Water and a Devil's Daughter," which aired last Friday, May 5. It marked the midway point of the series' fourth, and maybe last, season. Davis also talked about the chances of having a season 5 and what's ahead for Marcel.
According to E! Online, the fourth season of "The Originals" season 4 was reduced to 13 episodes and was pushed back to the fall to mid-season, fans worried that it might be the last season. Charles Michael Davis is confident that the show had a good shot at getting picked up as per Bustle, but does not literally mean that it may be taken for granted. While the actor cannot spoil too much of the rest of the season, he declared that the writer's had taken care of the end of the season in a way that it would be satisfying and then the fans would surely love it.
"We are not sure if we are going to come back, but if it needed to end now, we need to have closure," Davis states. "I hope fans will hang in and feel the weight of it for we put a lot into every episode."
What Marcel really meant with that closure was having that troubled relationship with Klaus. However, it's not going to be that easy after the fact of being held a prisoner in the Mikaelson's basement. There's more to defeat the big bad that needs to have Marcel and Klaus on the same line.
Jokes being set aside, Davis promised that if ever there will be a season 5, fans will reach a satisfying conclusion for some of the things that are wished or wanted to see for the characters will be granted in the next season. "Fans will get to see the Hollow", which Davis teases that "it's not like we've ever done before. So hang in tight, and be prepared."
As of this writing, it is still to be confirmed by Charles Michael Davis and the showrunners if "The Originals" will be returning for a season 5 renewal after season 4.
