KPop idol Leeteuk will be temporarily taking over the position of singer BoA as the program host for the second season of Mnet’s reality boy band survival show “Produce 101”.
A program representative has recently announced that the Super Junior leader will be making an appearance as the show’s special MC as it premieres on May 12. He also disclosed that BoA’s absence is due to her promotion engagements in Japan.
"On the 7th, Leeteuk participated in the recording as the special MC in replacement of BoA," said the source as quoted by All KPop.
Leeteuk made his debut in the entertainment industry in 2005 after joining Super Junior Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kibum and Kyuhyun. Since 2006 up to 2016, he partnered with Eunhyuk as the host DJs for KBS ”Super Junior's Kiss The Radio”.
Meanwhile, tvN has revealed in an interview that Leeteuk’s fellow Super Junior member Kyuhyun will once again appear on the new season of the South Korean travel-reality show “Journey to the West”. According to the network, the Hallyu star’s participation in the show was highly requested by his fellow cast members despite the fact that there might be a conflict in his military enlistment which is set to take place on May 25.
According to a representative from tvN as quoted by Soompi: “Kyuhyun will be appearing in our show as he fortunately had no scheduling conflicts. Filming will be completed before his military enlistment.”
“The other cast members had hoped he could join them, and it all worked out well. We cannot confirm the filming dates or locations as we have decided to keep that a secret. Everything will be revealed when the show airs,” he added.
