Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Melissa McCarthy are set to pay a visit to Singapore for a fund-raising event in the Marina Bay Sands on June 12.
American directors Ron Howard, Paul Feig, and Antoine Fuqua will also be attending the event, according to Straits Times.
The award-winning actor and actress will attend the Sands For Singapore Charity Festival. The event, which is being organized by the Marina Bay Sands, is aimed at helping local communities that are currently underserved.
Aside from gracing the fund-raising event, Hanks and McCarthy are also going to promote the films that they are starring in at the Lion City.
McCarthy will introduce her movie ‘Ghostbusters,’ an upcoming American 3D supernatural comedy film, together with Feig, who directed the said film. In the movie, McCarthy will portray the character Yates, an author who writes about paranormal things. Joining her in the film are Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
On the other hand, Hank will promote the upcoming American mystery thriller film ‘Inferno,’ an adaptation of Dan Brown's bestselling novel with the same title released in 2013.
The two-time Academy Award for Best Actor winner will again play the character of Professor Robert Langdon.
Director Antoine Fuqua will also promote his upcoming western action film ‘The Magnificent Seven.’ It is the remake of the 1960 western film of the same name directed by John Sturges.
