South Korean girl group DIA's leader Seunghee has decided to leave the K-pop group and the remaining members - Eunice, Heehyun, Jenny, Yebin, Eunjin, Chaeyeon, and Eunchae - have nothing but best wishes for her.
Seunghee's contract expired with MBK on April 30, and she apparently felt that it is time to go her own way and decided not to renew.
On Tuesday, the group held a live broadcast which they called "DIA Comeback Spoiler V Live" on the V app, and talked about Seunghee's exit.
During the broadcast, they spoke about their leader's exit saying, "Seunghee has parted ways with us to become an actress."
Although there were hints of sadness, the girls expressed their full support for their former member.
"We know how much responsibility she carried and love she had for us as a leader, so us members have come to respect her decision. We hope that she won't feel apologetic towards us, and we wish her the best in her acting career," they said.
Despite Seunghee's absence, the group is determined to make a grand comeback, returning as a 7-member girl group. The new members of the group are Heehyun and Chaeyeon, who were former contestants on Produce 101. The comeback is expected to happen this month.
As for Seunghee, she is currently focusing on making it big in the Film and TV industry and is already starring in the KBS Drama, The Unusual Family.
