SS301 is finally sharing how they feel about being a three-member group. Member Kim Kyu Jong admitted that it feels different performing with a three-member band because he is used to singing with former teammates Park Jung Min and Kim Hyun Joong, who are currently serving in the military.
The singer did not deny that there was a feeling of emptiness because the absence of the two members made a difference. SS301 revealed that most of their songs could be better if it were performed by five members. This was one of the reasons why they had to make big changes with the songs included on their new album entitled "Ah-Ha" and "Pain."
The band, originally known as SS501, is composed of members Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Hyung Jun, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung Min and Heo Young Saeng.
The group's first contract was with DSP Media, but it expired in mid-2010. The members had to go their separate ways because they could not find a company that would accept them as a team. Fortunately, the team was able to make a comeback in January 2016. However, they surprised fans by coming back as a three-member group. The members also have contracts with different companyies. Hyung Jun and Young Saeng signed a contract with CI Entertainment but Kyu Jong is currently with B2M Entertainment.
Despite losing two very good members, SS301 said that they would continue making music. They also expressed gratitude to their fans for sticking with them for 11 years.
The band will release their new album titled ESTRENO on June 9, 2016.
