J-Pop mega group AKB48 have announced their plans to hold concerts at Universal Studios Japan starting July this year. AKB48 are letting their fans know that from July 21, they will be performing with their sister groups NGT48, NMB48, and HKT48 at the USJ stage in a total of 112 appearances.
Aside from that, the band will also be holding eight more concerts at the Gramercy Park of USJ. Their songs will reportedly replace the music on the Hollywood Dream roller coaster.
Universal Studios Japan has been known to be the create attractions based on famous franchises such as anime shows' "One Piece," "Yo-Kai Watch," "Dragon Ball," and the recent "Attack on Titan." The company is now promoting Japanese pop idols.
AKB48 is a sixteen-member band known for entertaining their fans with top hits such as "Everyday, Katyusha," " Heavy Rotation," and "Aitakatta." They band achieved fame by hosting daily concerts in Akihabara so they are pretty used to dealing with a taxing schedule.
Universal Studio Japan will be selling combination tickets worth 9,900 yen that includes entrance to the park and access to the bands performance. That is a 2,500 premium over the original entrance fee of 7,400 yen. Ticketholders can also purchase ticket passes to the Stage 14 concerts for an additional price of 3,000 yen although admission to the Gramercy Park concert will be exclusive to combo ticket buyers.
The tickets will be released in mid-June via Universal Studio Japans' website.
