Hong Kong actor and singer Joel Chan and his co-star Kelly Fu reportedly risked their lives during the filming of a submerging car scene for the new drama White-Hot Pursuit.
AhMike.com reported that the two were out filming a scene for the upcoming drama, and they were spotted all wet and being extra cautious. The actors were reportedly shooting in the water at night. It was also raining that evening. They were seen grabbing their cups of coffee after shooting the specific scene.
The scene is reported to be about Fu and Chan getting away from the Pal Sinn's character, and they end up driving their car into the sea.
Aside from the two being filmed submerged in the water, the film crew prepared manikins for other shots and divers were present on standby. A diving coach was also present at the set to instruct both Fu and Chan on how they could properly hold their breath under water.
As per the photos released online, Fu appeared to be very nervous in the submerging car scene, but Chan looked very relaxed.
When interviewed after, the two were shaking since the water was very cold. Fu revealed that she learned how to swim for a movie that she did four years ago, but diving was not something she knew about. She also said that she was glad Chan was there as he helped her to keep calm.
"The story was about us being unconscious so we could not even open our eyes at all. Kelly never tried something like this so she was quite nervous! We usually do these types of scenes in a pool but we ended up shooting on location for authenticity," Chan said.
