Yes, you read it right. "Gugudan" is the official name of the new girl group that Jellyfish Entertainment has been referring to these past days as "gx9."
On Friday, Jellyfish Entertainment posted a photo on its official Twitter account showing features all nine members of the group with the group name, "gugudan."
The word "gugudan" if literally translated means the times table or known as the multiplication table. Hence, the g x 9 is a hint that we have been missing all this time. The members of Gugudan are Hana, NaYoung, Mimi, Soyee, HaeBin, Sally, Hyeyeon, SeJeong, and Mina.
On June 14, the company revealed the first set of members of the group; Hana, NaYoung, and Mimi. Then on June 15, the second wave of members was unveiled, including SoYee, SeJeong, and HaeBin. On Thursday, the last wave named as the "maknae" line of the girl group was Sally, Mina, and HyeYeon.
The eldest members of the group are Hana who was born on April 30, 1993, and Mimi (Jung Mi Mi) who was born on January 1, 1993. The lead singers are NaYoung (Kim Na Young) who was born on November 23, 1995; SeJeong (Kim Se Jeong) who was born on August 28, 1996; and HaeBin (Han Hae Bin) who was born on August 16, 1995. The main lead dancer is Mina (Kang Mi Na) who was born on December 4, 1999. SoYee (Jang So Jin) was born on November 21, 1996; Sally on October 23, 1996; and HyeYeon (Cho Hye Yeon) on August 5, 2000.
Meanwhile, gugudan is scheduled to debut by the end of this month.
