Kwon Sohyun has penned a heartfelt note to fans of 4Minute following their decision to disband. Since Saturday, June 18 marks the anniversary of the band's debut, some of their fans have been sad and nostalgic.
Sohyun expressed sadness in her letter as she told the fans that she was also looking forward to the band's anniversary. She thanked the fans for their support during the seven-year existence of 4Minute.
The former leader of 4Minute, Nam Jihyun, has already shared her thoughts on their disbandment. She uploaded a photo of herself on Instagram, and in the caption she reminisced how their team came together seven years ago.
Cube Entertainment has confirmed that the girls are disbanding. According to the company, the contracts of Jihyun, Sohyun, Gayoon and Jiyoon all ended on June 14 with no notice for renewal.
The label has been criticized by fans for not doing enough to make 4Minute stay together. A lot of fans opposed to 4Minute's disbandment think that it was the labels' decision to let them go. Many also claim it was unfair that only Hyuna will stay with the agency. There are speculations that there was an internal conflict in 4Minute as other girls unfollowed Hyuna on Instagram.
