Lee Ki-woo kicked it off with Park Shin-hye in an intense first episode of SBS' drama, "Doctors." He is shown with the actress in an emergency room where the two have an argument.
According to Soompi, the actor first enters the scene in the ER as a member of an injured. Park offers her assistance, but Lee refuses and orders his men to look for a male medic. Park shows her rebellious side by matching Lee's hostility. Eventually, she was able manage to the situation and bring him to surgery.
The production team behind "Doctors" has revealed that Lee Ki-woo will be playing one of the key characters in the drama. The director of the show Oh Choong-Hwan said that Lee's role as the injured patient plays a big part in the story. His character will be a point of discussion as the drama continues to develop.
The director also revealed that they intended to make the first episode as powerful as they could and needed a good actor to make it possible. Oh said Lee was always his first choice for the role since the actor is known for making a lasting impression.
"Doctors" is a new Korean drama about the heroin Hye Jung, who is played by Park Shin-hye. According to the storyline, she used to be a bully in school with a dark, painful past that she keeps hidden. She grew up shutting her heart away from people. She then meets her mentor (Hong Ji-hong to be played by Kim Rae-won), who helps transform her into a kindhearted doctor.
Skim Ji-soo will also be part of the cast. He plays the role of Hye Jung's childhood friend.
The drama will be airing on SBS every Mondays and Tuesdays at 22:99 KST.
