Singer Jay Park is bigger than ever since he began flying solo, putting his 2PM days behind him.
Park held his first showcase in China at the Chengdu's Jincheng Palace of Fine Arts on August 16 and 17, meeting with devoted localfans.
"He put on a charismatic performance with a stage presence that filled up the entire venue. He held an event so he can further interact with fans, creating an environment for a very welcoming concert. He also held a press conference through Chinese media in July, increasing the anticipation for this performance. We look forward to Jay Park's popularity skyrocketing even further through this recent showcase," stated Jay Park's label.
Park kicked of the show with his hit "Metronome," which was released this past April. He then continued with, "I Got You Back," "JOAH," "Girlfriend" and more. Chinese fans were seen singing along to Park's songs, showing their undying support and love for the former idol member.
Local media commented on the bright future that Jay Park will have in China as well. Park will be heading to Beijing and Guangzhou on August 30 and 31 to continue with his showcase in China.
Jay Park pre-released a song from his second album called "The Promise" on August 18 as well to further promote his upcoming musical endeavors. His second album is set to release on September 1.
Aside from his music career, Jay Park recently took part in the recording of the 19+ talk show "Witch Hunt" in Korea. The broadcast will air on August 29, according to the publication ENews World.
Despite his break from his former group 2PM, Jay Park stated during an interview with Complex back in 2011 that he'd be open to collaborating with them anytime in the future.
"Just give me the word and I'm down. I don't know how they feel, but as for me, we all struggled together, came up together, and that's something I'll never forget. So, as for me, those dudes are still my boys. I'm down whenever," stated Park.
