Tzuyu from TWICE has cried for the first time on live television after eating a Chinese meal that reminded her of her mother.
The teen celebrity and her bandmate Jungyeon appeared as guests of Chef Lee Yeon Buk's on the 85th episode of Please Take Care of My Refrigerator. During the show, the chef made Chinese wraps for them to dine together.
Tzuyu said she could not help but feel nostalgic because the meal brings back a lot of her childhood memories. She said that she remembers having a scrumptious Chinese meal with her family. As she continues to eat, Jungyeon noticed that she kept repeating how it reminded her of her mother. When the host Kim Sung Joo asked her why she kept saying it reminded her of her mother, Tzuyu started to cry.
The teen star shedding tears in live television came as a surprise because according to Jungyeon, Tzuyu never cried in public. It seems that it has been a long time since Tzuyu has dined with her mother.
Tzuyu was chosen as one of the guests for the show because they know how much she is in love with food. She stars in JTBC's eating-entered variety show, Girls Who Eat Well. She co-stars with Seulgi from Red Velvet.
Tzuyu has also shown her love for food in other eating variety shows such as Three Great Emperors aired in SBS and A Look at Myself aired in KBS 2TV's.
