Fans were disappointed when NBC declined to renew the supernatural TV series "Constantine"; however, news are circling that CW might be giving the show a chance for a second season, since they have revived the first season by including it in the lineup of their streaming website, CW Seed.
The second season of "Constantine" was supposed to air around the fall of 2015, but due to poor viewership ratings, NBC decided to cancel the program. Their decision was not favorable to many loyal fans since many were left with disbelief as to how the show received poor ratings, given the number of supporters who wanted it to continue.
The demand from "Constantine" fans is what led CW Network to pick up from where NBC left the show. According to Cinemablend, the guest appearance of Matt Ryan, the actor who plays Constantine, in one episode of "Arrow" Season 4 was a preview of the actor moving to the network.
His cameo in the episode was a success and many think that Ryan's character fits perfectly in terms of the supernatural elements existing in "Arrow." But according to Nerd Reactor, Constantine's appearance was a one-time thing. But speculations that Ryan might be casted as a regular in the show continues, since they keep referencing his character throughout the season.
Meanwhile, CW president Mark Pedowitz said that though there may be plans for the renewal of the show, it will not be happening soon. The recent move of DC's "Supergirl" from CBS already means that the network would have to make a lot of alterations in their DC Universe. The presence of four superhero universe in the network, with "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow," means a lot of potential crossovers. They would have to consider how "Constantine," if pursued, would fit into the puzzle.
