"Asia's Next Top Model" host Georgina Wilson is also in love with AlDub. The Filipino-British model expresses her delight over Maine Mendoza also known as Yaya Dub and admits that she really is a phenomenon.
During the Hershey's press launch on Nov. 27, PEP asked the Filipino-British model about her reasons with her obsession with Maine.
"The funny thing was I had no idea what it was at all, and then they showed me her dubsmashes of Kris Aquino and I found it so funny," Georgina said. "I think it's a phenomenon.I've been reading, reading about it and seeing it on BBC, it's something that after a while everyone just knows."
Although Georgina admits that she does not understand all of Maine's videos, she still found her funny. She also said that Maine is very approachable, which is why people are easily drawn to her.
Maine Mendoza, who started dubsmashing Kris Aquino, became an instant hit with the viewers. She soon started garnering millions of followers on her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. Her YouTube channel also gained millions of views because of her dubsmash.
She was named the "Dubsmash Queen" and got the attention of noontime show "Eat Bulaga!" where they took Maine as one of their co-hosts for their "Kalye Serye" [Street Segment] portion. Not long after she joined the segment, her career came into a very fast turn as her character "Yaya Dub" becomes the most beloved character in the afternoon show.
Maine and on-screen partner Alden Richards continue to create a powerful love story that entices people from all over the world.
"Eat Bulaga!" airs at 12 noon in GMA 7 for the Philippine viewers.
