The new, modern look of Technical Boy from Starz' small screen adaptation of "American Gods" has been unveiled. Comedian Dane Cook, meanwhile, has been tapped to play Robbie in the Starz series.
In a first look photo released by Entertainment Weekly, Technical Boy (played by Bruce Langley) has gone through a modern-style makeover. Described as one of the New Gods who personifies the internet, the need to update his look on a 2017 period was crucial.
"Nothing he's wearing could have been accomplishable 15 years ago when the book first came out," co-showrunner Michael Green told the publication.
"His clothes reflect modern methods that even we were introduced to for this [show]."
Green adds that just like technology, Technical Boy will also be upgrading his style and outfits as his storyline in "American Gods" progresses.
In other "American Gods" news, comedian Dane Cook has boarded the fantasy series to play Shadow Moon's best friend, Robbie - Deadline reported.
Some of Robbie's roles in "American Gods" include taking over Shadow's job for him while he is incarcerated and to provide comfort to Shadow's wife Laura while her husband is away.
Based on Neil Gaiman's bestselling fantasy novel, "American Gods" follows the story of a brewing war between old and new gods. The protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.
"American Gods" hails from executive producers Bryan Fuller and Craig Cegielski. It also stars Ricky Whittle, Chris Obi, Emily Browning, Ian McShane, Pablo Schreiber, Emily Browning and Omid Abtahi.
The premiere date of "American Gods" is yet to be announced.
