The CW has bumped "Reign" Season 4 to premiere midseason or sometime in early 2017 to give way for other well-watched series, such as "Supergirl" and "Arrow," in the network's fall lineup.

In June, the CW announced its fall TV schedule, setting the official premiere dates of its new and returning dramas, TV Line reported. The fall schedule includes "No Tomorrow," "The Flash," "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Jane the Virgin," "Supergirl," "Legends of Tomorrow," "Supernatural," and "The Vampire Diaries."

However, the network bumped "Reign" to premiere its fourth season during midseason. The period drama joins fellow CW dramas which include "iZombie," "The 100" and "Riverdale" (new show).

The network's decision to remove "Reign" from its fall schedule can be an indication that the show is not performing well on ratings. However, that is only one of several factors to consider. For now, it is still too early to tell whether the network is already planning to cancel the show.

Currently, "Reign" Season 4 is still under works, as the show's writers have been posting updates about their progress in social media.

"We just had our Episode 404 Table Read," they shared on Twitter.

"Can't wait for you all to meet the new characters for season four! #Reign #FightForTheThrone"

"Reign" has also added some new faces to join the drama on its upcoming fourth season, including Steve Lund (Bitten) and Will Kemp (Van Helsing).

Lund will recur on the show as Luc, a sexy highborn rogue who's also the son of Lord Stephan Narcisse. His arrival on "Reign" Season 4 will complicate Claude's life in unimaginable ways.

Kemp, on the other hand, will take on the role of Mary's new suitor Lord Danley. His character is based on the real-life English nobleman who would become the second husband of Mary.

"Reign" hails from executive producer Laurie McCarthy and stars Adelaide Kane, Anna Popplewell, Celina Sinden, Craig Parker and Jonathan Keltz.
