Chiranjeevi's comeback Telugu movie "Kathilantodu" is facing casting woes.
Leading Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra, Nargis Fakhri and Deepipa Padukone have reportedly turned down the offer to play Chiranjeevi's love interest in the action drama.
"Many actresses from Bollywood including Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra and Nargis Fakhri were approached but all turned down the film citing date issues," DNA India quoted an unnamed source as saying. "Baahubali" actress Anushka Shetty has also been approached but she has date issues.
The makers are yet to finalize the lead female actress of the movie and names of South Indian actress Kajal Aggarwal and Nayanthara are doing rounds. The source further revealed that movie's producer and Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja wants to cast a top Bollywood actress opposite his father's comeback film.
"Kathilantodu is Ram Charan's dream project as his father is coming back to films after an eight-year gap," the source added. "The search for the lead actress is still on, though three schedules have been completed."
The Telugu film, an official remake of Tamil star Vijay's super-hit "Kaththi" movie, will be Chiranjeevi's 150th movie after a gap of eight years.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in "Bajirao Mastani" opposite her rumored boyfriend Ranveer Singh, is making her Hollywood debut with Vin Diesel's "XxX: The Return of Xander Cage." She has also been finalized for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next project "Padmavati." Katrina Kaif and Parineeti Chopra, on the other hand, are busy with their upcoming movies "Baar Baar Dekho" and "Meri Pyaari Bindu" respectively,Business of Cinema reported.
