KPop group BTS is in Beijing now for their concert, and the leader of the group Rap Monster suffered from heatstroke during one of their performances, leading to him almost collapsing on stage. The agency handling the group, Big Hit Entertainment, recently released an update on the health of Rap Monster.
According to Big Hit Entertainment, Rap Monster suffered from such on Saturday. BTS visited Beijing for their "2016 BTS Live Asia Tour" and the members of the group performed wearing heavy suits despite the hot weather, KPop Herald reported.
Rap Monster reportedly became breathless and almost lost consciousness. The concert then took a break after the incident as a medical team had to check on him. He was no longer able to go back on stage but the remaining six members of BTS carried on with the concert.
Rap Monster took to his social media account on Sunday to apologize to his fans saying that his heatstroke incident caused trouble. He added, "...especially to my Chinese fans for not being able to show my best. I am a lot better now!"
Big Hit Entertainment also released a statement on Twitter saying that on-site medical personnel have checked on Rap Monster and had him examined, K Music reported. The medical personnel explained that Rap Monster had a difficult time breathing due to the heat and lack of oxygen. They assured that there is nothing serious going on regarding Rap Monster's overall health.
The concert of BTS in Beijing last Saturday was the first even in the country. Accordingly, all of the 15,000 tickets were sold out.
After the Beijing concert, BTS will be heading to Manila for the July 30, 2016 performance.
