Although his mystery drama series "The Following" was not extended to its fourth season last year, British actor James Purefoy have got nothing to lose as projects still continue to go after him.
According to Master Herald, Purefoy is rumored to have been offered a role in the renowned award-winning American fantasy drama television series "Game of Thrones." In fact, he was among the stars who were considered to portray the character of King Euron III Greyjoy, also known as the "King of the Iron Islands."
Purefoy is also set to appear in the remake of the 1977 mini-series "Roots," commissioned by A&E and History, Variety reported. The actor shared in an interview with the news agency that he will portray the role of John Waller, a nasty and terrifying slave owner.
The 52-year-old actor is currently one of the lead stars in "Hap and Leonard," along with actors Michael Kenneth Williams and Jimmi Simpson. The show was adapted from Joe R. Lansdale's novel of the same title.
Born in Somerset England, Purefoy started his career by playing various roles from Shakespeare's famous works in the theaters of United Kingdom. In 1995, he made a film debut in the movie "Feast of July".
Television drama series like "Rome," "Frankenstein," "Solomon Kane" and "The Philanthropist" were among the actor's famous shows. He is currently married to director and producer Jessica Adams and has two children named Rose and Adam.
