After the announcement of his participation in the upcoming TV drama series "K2," South Korean actor Ji Chang Wook is claimed as TVN's highest earning talent.
Ji, according to a source, is said to have surpassed the talent fee of another tvN mainstay award-winning actress Jeon Do Yeon in the remake of the American drama series "The Good Wife." The digits of the actor's earnings, however, were not mentioned.
As a response to the reports, Ji's talent management Glorious Entertainment stated that they do not want the actor's talent fee from tvN to be a big deal, Soompi reported. The agency added that the two parties, with respect to the publication rights, have settled to give Ji a much higher compensation as he also has other engagements in other Asian countries such China and Japan.
The 29-year-old actor began his acting career as an actor in musical theaters, and he later explored the world of show business and made his onscreen debut in "Days" in 2006.
TV drama series like "Smile Again," "Warrior Baek Dong-soo" and "Empress Ki" gave Ji an opportunity to become widely known to Korean viewers. In "K2," he will portray Kim Je Ha, a bodyguard who was hired to protect the wife of a presidential candidate.
Ji described his character as "cold and unfeeling" man who has a bizarre appeal that would never come unnoticed, Yibada reported. He added that he is looking forward to his new character and how the story of the drama series would move.
"K2" is set to be aired on September. Aside from Ji, Korean stars like Lee Jung Jin, Jo Sung Ha, Song Yoon Ah, Yoona and Kim Kap Soo are also among the show's cast members.
