Justin Timberlake received "The Decade Award" at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards. The award coincided with the 10th year anniversary of his famous album "FutureSex/LoveSounds." He delivers an inspiring acceptance speech to the audience.
Timberlake has been honored 23 Teen Choice Awards throughout his career as an artist. "The Decade Award" was given to him as a token for his continuous involvement being an artist for the past 10 years. His album "FutureSex/Love Sounds remain to be a top choice amongst his fans. During his acceptance speech he recalled about the former choices he made that has led him to where he is now, and has made him who he is. He told everyone in the audience that choices matter.
According to Billboard, Timberlake said as he received "The Decade Award" that he wanted teenagers not to live by his example, by the example of all the great people who came before him. He mentioned about how a great legend by the name of Al Reverend has inspired him and taught him the importance of staying together. He also mentioned several of his musical inspirations including a few such as Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Elton John and Aretha Franklin.
Timberlake also gave recognition to Kobe Bryant, the champion he considers that presented him "The Decade Award." He mentioned that one of the greatest lessons that Bryant taught him was that in order to be a champion, it was important to arrive early and stay late. Uproxx news reported that Timberlake focused not on his own glory, but to the next generation. His inspiration also comes from his Son Silas who was born in 2015.
His career does not stop with "The Decade Award." Timberlake will be voicing the lead character in the upcoming animated film, "Trolls." His hit single "Can't Stop the Feeling," will be the film's official soundtrack.
