Juventus legend Marco Tardelli recently told reporters that the €90 million signing of Gonzalo Higuaín from Serie A rival club Napoli is set to form a "perfect partnership" between the Argentine striker and his young compatriot Paulo Dybala in the Old Lady's frontline.

ESPN reported that Juve signed the 28-year-old French-born Argentina international last Tuesday for an Italian transfer record of €90 million, which is said to be intended to prepare the club for a possible Paul Pogba exit to Manchester United also this summer.

It was the third richest transfer deal in history behind Real Madrid's purchases of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 (€100.8 million) and of Cristiano Ronaldo from the Red Devils in 2009 (€94 million).

Higuaín was the Serie A's top goalscorer last term with an astonishing 36 goals in 35 appearances in the Italian top flight while Dybala was Juventus' top scorer with 19 goals in 34 games also in the domestic competitions.

The imminent combination of both premier goalscorers had reportedly aroused the 61-year-old former football player and manager.

Tardelli even compared the upcoming duo to the old tandem of former Le Zebre forwards David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero, who had suited up for the Turin giants from the year 2000 to 2010.

"(Higuaín and Dybala will be) a perfect partnership. They compare very well with Trezeguet-Del Piero. They're four great attackers, but different from each other," said Tardelli, as reported by Four Four Two.

"Higuaín and Dybala are perfect on paper because, in addition to sticking the ball in the net, Pipita is good at providing assists with his South American feet," the former defensive midfielder said.

However, Tardelli believes that Mario Mandzukic, last season's second-highest scorer for Juve with 10 goals, still has a place in head coach Massimiliano Allegri rotation as the Croatian striker has a different style that is equally beneficial for the reigning Italian champions.

He specifically mentioned Mandzukic's importance when it comes to Juve's Champions League aspirations next season.

"Mandzukic has been a key man, he's the first to press and attack everything, allowing the team to take control on the pitch," Tardelli said. "Higuaín is a different striker, he's an attacking conduit. We're talking about a champion though, one who can give Juventus a chance to aim for the Champions League."
